School-based Support Services - Enhancing support for teaching Chinese to Non-Chinese speaking students and Catering for Learner Diversity
To enhance support for teaching and learning Chinese to non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students, our school has applied for the School-based Support Services from the Education Bureau, and has been granted the language learning support services. We hope the services can set progressive learning targets and expected learning outcomes for NCS students in order to support their transition to mainstream classes. Meanwhile, the services can enhance the professionalism of our Chinese Language teachers to teach them. In addition, to cater for the diversity of students' learning, the school allocates a lot of resources to group students into different levels and teach students in accordance with their aptitude. The school also optimizes the school curriculum and teaching strategies by dividing classroom materials and tasks into basic and advanced levels, so that every student can be taken care of.
