Foyer |
When you enter into the entrance foyer, you will see The 5A Cultural Wooden Board Tree branches formed by the values of the 5A Culture: Acceptance接納和尊重 Affirmation欣賞和肯定 Amity 守禮和節制 Adoration 感恩和回饋 Aspiration 夢想和卓越 As you can see that the 5A Culture is put into practice first by the Principal, followed by the Vice Principals and teaching staff, and then the students. What does that mean? This is a reminder for the Principal that teachers should lead by example to appreciate, affirm, accept and respect each other, and create the 5A culture atmosphere in school. River of Life and Tree of Life The staircase by the foyer between the first and ground floors is painted in blue and green portraying the river of life recorded in the Bible. This river of life flows down to the tree of life (the 5A Cultural Wooden Board as mentioned above). This design was inspired by the following Bible verse: Revelation 22:2 “On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.” (NIV) Therefore, if you look up, you will see twelve shining, unique lights in varying sizes depicting the fruits of the tree of life. Olive Shoots Photo Gallery Facing the tree of life is a big green wall that has “Olive Shoots” written on it. Psalm 128:3 “Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.” (NIV) Teachers perceive the students as olive shoots and treat them like their own children, cultivate them with love, and nurture them to become trees of life. “Shoots” also means photographing. Thus, this wall is used to show photos of the students’ jolly and vibrant school life. The Houses on the Rock Facing the photo gallery is another wall designed to shape like houses and has a bible verse engravened on it: Psalm 20:7 “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” (NIV) If you look closely, you will see that there are two houses. As it is written in Matthew 7:24-27 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” (NIV) |
