“This is my smoking monster!” Some students built a giant smoking monster being affected by all the bad effects of smoking. “Smoking causes heart disease and lung cancer. The smoking monster also has yellow teeth and hair loss problem.”

 

For the Smoking Module in English Enhancement course, our Secondary 2 students built their own “smoking monsters” and successfully completed their presentation on hazards of smoking and the influence of quitting smoking.

 

By visualizing the concepts with Lego bricks, students were more motivated to describe their hand-made Lego masterpiece with the use of the English vocabulary they have learnt from the module.
